40+ Actually Affordable Wallpaper Options (Under $2/foot)
Finding the perfect wallpaper to elevate the look of a space can be a daunting task. With so many options available, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the choices. However, if you are looking for a wallpaper to add a touch of personality to your home without breaking the bank, look no further than the list I’ve compile. I’ve recently been on the hunt for wallpaper for our wall that extends from the playroom to the sitting area by the arched bookshelf door as well as our mud room, and found tons of options that are both affordable and beautiful.
When choosing a wallpaper for a shared space like ours, it's important to find a design that is neutral enough to blend into both areas seamlessly. This can be achieved through selecting colors that complement the existing decor in each space, or by choosing a pattern that is versatile and not too bold. Additionally, since we are also planning to install a board and batten wall on the entirety of the wall, we wanted to ensure that the wallpaper we selected would complement this feature as well. We will choose a color from the wallpaper and color match it from Sherwin Williams for the board and batten!
The challenge with wallpaper is that prices can vary greatly, and what may have initially seemed like an affordable project can quickly become out of budget based on the cost of the wallpaper you fall in love with. Fortunately, I found a wide selection of affordable wallpaper options that won't break the bank. In fact, all of the wallpapers we considered were priced at under $2/square foot. (At the time of writing this.)
One option we fell in love with is the Ashurst Toile Wallpaper in brown. This wallpaper has a classic design that can add a touch of nature and sophistication to any space. The muted colors make it easy to blend into any existing color scheme, while the large pattern adds a bold statement to the room. At only $0.76/square foot, this wallpaper is not only beautiful, but also budget-friendly. This is the one we ended up putting in our mud room. And there is an even more affordable option with more colors here!
3 photoshopped wallpaper options we considered for our upstairs wall extending into the play room.
Another option we considered is the Arthur Green Paper Thistle Wallpaper. This wallpaper has a bold floral design that is sure to make a statement in any room. The green and pink ish color scheme is still neutral enough and at only $1.80/square foot, this wallpaper is a steal for the elegance it brings to a room.
Another one we considered is the Floral Multicolor Paper Non-Pasted Washable Wallpaper. This wallpaper has a unique design that can add a touch of creativity. This wallpaper is not only beautiful, but also practical.
The last one we considered (and ending up choosing for the upstairs) is the Pirum Navy Pear Non Woven Paper Wallpaper. It comes in navy blue as well as yellow and green. (You may recognize the yellow from Anthropologie’s website…however it is cheaper from Home Depot by about $0.50 per foot.)
If none of these are your jam, I have rounded up 40 affordable wallpaper options all around or under $2/foot! I tend to stay away from peel and stick wallpaper so most (if not all) of these are non pasted. I really like this wallpaper adhesive from Lowe’s.
